Root Cover-Up Stick, Precise Gray Coverage at the Hairline | Salon-Selected

A waxless, cream-to-powder root stick from Style Edit for precise coverage exactly where grays show first: the temples, the hairline and the part. It goes on as a cream, sets to a soft powder finish, and can also fill in sparse areas along the hairline or brows.

The stick is dual-ended. One end applies the color directly and the other is a pointed sponge tip for blending, so you can place the color on a single line of regrowth and soften the edge without spreading it onto the skin.

The color-adaptive pigments blend with natural and color-treated hair and leave hair soft and natural to the touch, with no sticky feel. It is rain, sweat and transfer resistant through everyday activity, and it washes out with your next shampoo.

Selected by Delena Markland, a licensed cosmetologist with over 25 years behind the chair. A stick is the better format than a powder when the problem is a narrow line: a few grays at the temple, a visible part, the edge of a fresh cut. Apply, blend with the sponge end, then smooth the area with the Hair Finishing Stick so the hairline lies flat. If the concern at the hairline is thinning rather than gray, read about ProCell, and browse Shop All for more. Style Edit makes it in the USA, free of harsh dyes, parabens and silicones.

Works best for: grays at the temples and hairline, the part line, sparse areas along the hairline, and medium brown hair.

Shade: Medium Brown | Format: Waxless cream-to-powder stick, dual-ended with sponge tip | Wear: Rain, sweat and transfer resistant | Removal: Washes out with shampoo | Made in: USA

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the root stick and root powder?

The stick is for precise lines, like grays at the temples, the hairline or a visible part. A powder covers a wider area of regrowth faster.

Does the root cover-up stick wash out?

Yes. It is temporary color that washes out with your next shampoo.

Will it transfer onto my pillow or clothes?

It is formulated to resist rain, sweat and transfer during everyday activity, and it sets to a soft powder finish.

Can I use it on thinning areas?

Yes, it can fill in the look of sparse areas at the temples and hairline. For actual thinning, a ProCell consultation is the next step.

Does it work on color-treated hair?

Yes. The color-adaptive pigments blend with both natural and color-treated hair.
