Inflammation First -- Then Everything Else Follows

The SOOTHE Scalp Scrub and Shampoo targets scalp inflammation directly. Chamomile calms and soothes, aloe reduces irritation and provides gentle hydration, and oat provides anti-inflammatory action and protects the scalp barrier. When inflammation is addressed first, everything else -- flaking, itching, discomfort -- becomes more manageable.

Scalp inflammation is often the root cause of visible scalp issues. Instead of treating symptoms, this scrub treats the cause. Chamomile, aloe, and oat work together to create an anti-inflammatory environment on the scalp.

This is the scrub for people with sensitive scalps or scalps that react to stress or seasonal changes. It is gentle enough to wash with as often as you wash, with the exfoliating scrub step every 7 to 10 days, and effective enough to make a real difference in how your scalp feels.

Works best for: sensitive, reactive, or irritated scalps; after color, perm, or any chemical service; a scalp that hurts to the touch, which is common after pregnancy.

Format: Scalp Scrub and Shampoo | Key Ingredients: Chamomile, Aloe, Oat

Which scalp scrub is right for you?

I carry three scrubs because there is no one scalp. You pick by scalp type; you do not rotate them on a schedule.

  • DETOX (charcoal, peppermint, tea tree) is for product buildup, an oily or smelly scalp, and dandruff that is really buildup. The charcoal grabs what is sitting on the scalp and lifts it off. This is also the one I reach for after a stretch of dry shampoo.
  • SOOTHE (chamomile, aloe, oat) is for a sensitive or irritated scalp: after color, after a perm, after any chemical service, or a scalp that hurts to the touch for no reason (I see that a lot after pregnancy). The oat calms skin and helps a stripped, overreacting scalp settle back down.
  • BOOST (rosemary, ginger, caffeine) is for circulation. It brings blood flow to the scalp surface, you feel the tingle, and it is my pick for scaling and for anyone who wants fuller-growing roots. If you are dealing with actual thinning, that is a ProCell conversation, not a scrub.

How often to use a scalp scrub

All three are scrub-and-shampoo products, so you can wash with them as often as you wash. The exfoliating scrub step, worked into the scalp with your fingertips for a full minute, is every 7 to 10 days. Not daily, not twice a week. More than that and you strip the scalp, and a stripped scalp overproduces oil.

SOOTHE Scalp Scrub -- FAQ

Who should use the SOOTHE scalp scrub?

Anyone with a sensitive, irritated, or reactive scalp: after color, after a perm, after any chemical service, or a scalp that hurts to the touch for no reason, which is common after pregnancy. Chamomile, aloe, and oat calm the skin. For buildup, use DETOX instead; for circulation, BOOST.

Can I use SOOTHE every day?

You can wash with it as often as you wash, but the exfoliating scrub step is every 7 to 10 days, the same as the other two scrubs. Daily scrubbing strips even a sensitive scalp.

Is SOOTHE good for an oily scalp?

If the scalp is oily because it is stripped and irritated, yes; oat helps it settle. If the oil comes with product buildup or odor, DETOX is the pick because the charcoal lifts the buildup.

Oh wow! I really love this shampoo! I was afraid it would be too oily; but I followed directions and it worked out awesome!
